Promote Your Website on the Internet. Part 4: Blogs, forums and social networks

Forums and blogs are very important parts of site promotion. They enhance your credibility and make your potential customers more aware of your presence. When you make valuable posts, help people, and answer their questions on forums they begin to develop trust in you. If people trust you, they will trust your business. Don’t reply as if you are trying to make a sale. People sense it and make a note in their mind. Your main goal is to make people trust you.

Blogs:
Today blogs are one of the most popular resources on the Internet. People like blogs; they search for interesting information there, explore what other people think about things, and share their experiences. Post comments on relevant blogs, write interesting articles, and share useful information about your business field. If you add descriptions of your products, talk about how to best use them: people will remember that. Keep up with the news in your field and post that news. People like to be well informed.

Even better, in addition to posting articles on external blogs, create your own. Don’t be afraid to have links to external resources on your blog if they relate to your business. They provide your users with interesting information and your users will return to your blog again and again. Of course, they will post links to your blog on other sites, blogs, and forums. Eventually you will get more target traffic.

 Forums :

  1. Find a forum that relates to your website.
  2. Use your Profile
  3. Choose an appropriate user name and complete your profile with some reasonable detail. Post a link to your main website. Compare your details with those of the forum leaders.
  4. Answer people’s posts, give them advice, solve their problems, and only talk about things you know well.

Why forum and blog promotion may be unsuccessful:

  1. Your subject area is different than that of the forum or blog.
  2. People find your site’s PR annoying.
  3. Your posting is not well timed. Analyze recent and future events to determine if this is the best time to add your post. Perhaps it will be better to wait a few days.
  4. The content of your posts is uninteresting.
  5. You selected the wrong target audience.

 Social networks

Activity in social networks provides the following benefits:

  1. creating an active and up-to-date information resource for your potential customers
  2. getting feedback from your customers
  3. increasing consumer loyalty

  4. neutralizing any negative information about your brand
  5. increasing target traffic

Publish your articles, make announcements, and insert links in your blog posts to your own blog and website. Direct your customers to forums where your site is discussed and receives good reviews and comments.

Good promotion means that you publish interesting up-to-date information and announcements and that you are ready to keep up with active discussions.

>Recently, the Avactis team released a new extension. It allows you to present your Avactis store right on Facebook. Of course, we added our Marketplace to our Facebook page. Have a look at how it works:

Directories

Last time we reported that it is widely believed that directories provide only a small part of your traffic. Up to 20% of all traffic comes from directories; we should not neglect that 20%.

A Website directory is an Internet resource that stores information about various websites available on the Internet. A directory makes your site more approachable by giving users a usable description of resources registered on the directory. Submitting your site to good directories gets additional “backlinks”.

The most important thing to consider is how to choose a good directory. There are directories that will only collect your address, email and other data and than sell that to 3rd party companies.
Perform an online search to find out about the best web directories. Look at the page rank of the directory. If it is high, the directory is popular and you can rely on it.

Some web directories provide free services, others require payment. Usually paid web directories are better. They provide more services and better support than free web directories.

When posting a link to your website, think about the relevance of the link. Adding a link to a dog food site about perfume products is not a productive route.

I am pleased to announce that next time we will discuss recommendations about how to make robots index your site in a short time
